With the exception of the little black dress, there is nothing more essential to a woman’s wardrobe than a perfect fitting pair of denim jeans. However, finding the right pair of jeans may be the most frustrating thing in the world. A gal can go into a fitting room, try on 50 pairs of jeans, and walk out with nothing but frustration. So what designer brands are good for shaping and showing off a cute booty?
Women's Denim
One of the most important rules for women's clothes is:
- "You buy smaller, you look bigger."
- "You buy bigger, you look smaller."
That is one of the reasons that the (already small) Olsen Twins look so tiny in their big clothes. And, this rule has worked well for Nicole Richie, the chick who brought back giant sunglasses. So, ladies, remember not to buy denim that is too small or too tight in the waist. The wrong size will not make any woman look smaller, it will only give her a classic case of "muffin top".
Stretch Jeans
Should a gal choose stretchy jeans if she is looking for the most flattering fit? Actually, there are two theories about denim:
- Stretchy denim will pull a woman in.
- Denim with no stretch will hold a woman in; though all denim stretches a little.
Which theory is right? It depends upon one’s body, the cut of the jeans, which part of the body a girl is trying to correct, and whether a gal is willing to sacrifice comfort for catcalls.
Booty Jeans
A girl with a big booty will usually find that dark jeans look the best. And, a boot cut or a wide leg is perfect for big bums because the extra width will balance a gal's behind and keep her sides from looking “hippy”. (Petite gals may want to keep in mind that most wide-leg jeans should be avoided because big legs can overwhelm smaller silhouettes.)
Curvy Jeans - Rock & Republic
For many girls, Rock & Republic is the best booty jean. The curve of the R on the back pockets is strategically placed to make the derriere look rounded and high. The stitching draws the eye upward, and the styles with rhinestones are amazing.
Whenever possible, it's nice to have a pair of jeans with blue rhinestones. Blue rhinestones have just enough flash to stand out, yet they are so subtle that people won't think, "Oh, she's wearing those jeans with the sparkle, again." Also, blue rhinestones on blue denim will go with any outfit.
In general, the curvy R Pocket is more flattering to booties than the R&R pocket, however, the Rock & Republic jeans with the button-flap are almost as good as the "R" Pocket.
Pear Shape - 7 for All Mankind
7 for All Mankind is another popular brand of denim and may be a good place to start. In general, Sevens have good stretch, are slimming, and are not stiff.
- Dojo: According to denim experts, 'Dojo' from 7 for All Mankind gives a woman's derriere a great shape. The back pockets are stitched with a 7 logo and the curve of the logo is quite flattering. Most women prefer the NY Dark fabric because darker washes make gals look thinner.
- 'A' Pocket: The 'A Pocket' has less stretch but makes ladies look fabulous. This style is worth a try, because if it fits, it's fab.
Some denim styles at True Religion are great for flat bums, but are not as flattering for some gals because the logo fits too low on big fannies. Sometimes, even perky bottoms can look saggy if the detailing rides low.
Boot Cut Jeans - Joe's Jeans
Joe's Jeans can be adorable and all of their boot cuts give good behind. Top styles include 'Honey' Curvy Fit Stretch Jeans and 'The Muse' High Waist Bootcut Stretch Jeans. Another great booty brand is Paige Premium Denim.
Big Thighs - Citizens of Humanity
Citizens of Humanity jeans are perfect for women with muscular, athletic thighs. Two great styles for this body type are:
- Kelly Boot Cut
- Ingrid Flared
The right jean just might be the best investment a woman can make. When a gal has five minutes to get ready for an impromptu date, she will know her jeans have her back.
