What's a good Christmas or Birthday gift for a woman? Easy presents include almost anything with stretch. That includes anything knit, like clothing made from jersey (read info on websites) and slouchy beret hats, fingerless gloves...and if you're a guy and you don't know if something is stretchy...just IM chat with someone from a website. Or, you could ask your sister for help.
Gifts for Women
What does a woman want? Well, the obvious answer would be a trip to Paris or a fabulously chunky emerald ring that would make all of her woman friends green with envy. Well, ok, it’s a recession right now and those gifts aren't even on the table for most people. So, what is a nice present for a woman, that doesn’t cost too much? Fashion gifts are always good.
Best Gifts
Every woman likes clothes and jewelry. Even though it can be difficult to gauge the correct size and style, there is something so sweet about giving clothing to a woman, that it's worth it. Yes, the gift giver must keep the receipt and there is a possibility that the lady will have to make an exchange or a return, but the thought and the time that goes into gifts like these will still be appreciated.
Gifts for Her
There are basically two types of fashion gifts. One type comes in a one-size-fits-all size and the other type comes in different sizes. With the first type, the gift giver should try to find something amazing or unique, in order to express the care that was put into the decision.
Examples of fashion gifts that are easy to fit:
- Hats, there are lots of options with hats.
- Gloves
- Scarves, a nice pashmina or cashmere scarf.
- Jewelry
Of course there are exceptions. Some hats and gloves come in sizes, and rings almost always do.
Clothing Sizes
Items that demand a little more time and care, like sweaters, tunics (long tops), and dresses, are not so very difficult to buy as long as the shopper can peek at one of the gal’s dress labels (size), and knows what type of garment to look for online.
The easiest items, for guessing the correct size, fall into these categories or have these qualities:
- Stretch fabric, such as jersey: Read the description to find the word “stretch”, "Lycra", or "Spandex".
- Sweaters: Plain or leopard print sweaters are usually easy to wear and stretchy.
- Dresses: Dresses are easy if they have no waist, no zipper, and are made of jersey or another stretchy fabric. One example would be a “sweater dress”.
- If a dress or tunic slips on over the head, that is usually a good style and will invariably be made with Lycra, Modal, or something similar.
Here are some examples of easy-to-fit gifts:

There are many great websites with sweaters, hats, dresses, and other easy fitting presents for women. Just look around the internet. Try to imagine the item on the lady in question and keep the receipt. Many gals think that a “real” gift is much more thoughtful and loving than a gift card. Also, exchanges are super easy when a gift is purchased online.
