Here are two pet friendly hotels in downtown Vancouver BC and one B&B in Kitsilano by UBC & beach. All are in great locations. Read about Opus, Loden, & Your Cozy Castle.

Vancouver is a very dog friendly town and there are choice digs for pooches and puppies of all sizes. Try one of the trendy, chic boutique hotels in downtown, like the Opus Hotel or the Loden, or chill out in a great Kitsilano neighborhood B&B. Either way, it's all good.

Please ask about dog policies when making reservations, as some places require advance notice. And, it's always a good idea to double-check that hotel policies have not been changed.

Opus Hotel Vancouver

The Opus in Downtown Vancouver is a swank boutique hotel in trendy Yaletown, which lies within walking district of the core financial and retail districts. This artsy hotel has a modern vibe, a rocking bar, and, of course, dogs are welcome to spend the night in some guestrooms. Even people who aren’t looking for a hot DJ can find zen while hibernating in their own personal space with their pup.

Dog Bed and Breakfast:

Guests can get a “Dog’s Breakfast” package, which includes:

  • Breakfast for two
  • Doggie Treats
  • Toys
  • Doggie Bed to sleep on
  • A Modern Dog Magazine

Loden Vancouver Hotel

This is another great Downtown Vancouver boutique hotel that offers luxury pet services, so that little fur babies can sleep near their mommies and/or daddies. Why should pet owners go through those feelings of guilt as they subject Spot to, yet, another round of "Doggie Jail" boarding kennel? It's so much nicer when people can bring their pups along for a small fee?

The Loden staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. Their offerings for dogs:

  • Doggie bed and dog dishes for use during stay
  • Fancy Dog Biscuits
  • Modern Dog Magazine
  • Doggie hygiene bags

For a bit more, the pup can be pampered with:

  • Gourmet doggie-menu meals
  • Dog walking services to off-leash dog parks and trails
  • Pet sitting services
  • Pawsh Dog Spa
  • Vacation photo album of the pup’s happy vacation

As always, if the dog acts like a bad rock band and trashes the place, there will be extra fees. Pets of any size can stay over, though they can’t stay in the room without supervision. Check ahead to see if the Loden has a vacant room at the inn for Benji.

Pet Friendly Vancouver B&B

Your Cozy Castle Bed and Breakfast is in a popular residential neighborhood, Kitsilano, very close to downtown Vancouver, the University of British Columbia, and two beaches (Kits and Jerico). This cool little house (no it’s not a castle) is run by a couple from Montreal with a friendly young daughter and a Bernese Mountain Dog.

The husband loves Harleys and mountain bikes. The wife loves cooking.

This B&B is not far from a dog beach and Pacific Spirit Regional Park (at UBC) where dogs can walk most trails (some on-leash, some off-leash). Fortunately, there is a dog wash nearby, called It's a Dogs Life, for hosing down the pup after a good romp in the sand or mud.

Your Cozy Castle has:

  • Rooms with en suite bathrooms
  • Self-serve breakfasts
  • A backyard
  • A welcoming attitude towards dogs, though there is a small cleaning fee

These three dog friendly accommodations are definitely not the only places for pet lovers in Vancouver, but they are some of the best. Check around to see what else is available, but remember that traveling is so much nicer when people are allowed to bring their friendly snuggling dogs.
