Star Wars baby costumes, silly animal costumes, Elvis toddler and more. Halloween is more fun when you have a baby.

There is only one time of the year when parents get to make their babies look silly (to the point of embarrassment) and no one will complain. Your poor little guy will love the extra attention but he won’t know why everyone is making such a fuss. Yes. It’s fabulous fun to be a mom or dad on Halloween.

Here are some of the most popular Halloween costumes for babies and toddlers.

Baby Animal Costumes

Have you ever called your baby a little monkey or a little stinker? Well, if you haven’t, you will. Most of the following costumes can be found on numerous websites, so look around for something great at a good price. Many costumes are already on sale.

Baby Monkey Costumes may be the most popular animal costume this year. OldNavy.com has an inexpensive style, but there are other great monkey costumes for infants and toddlers all over the internet. If you put your toddler in a monkey suit, and you have an infant, the little one must wear this baby banana costume. I start to laugh just thinking about this. Take a look at these other animal outfits:

  • Sock Monkey Costume: If you want a monkey theme but you’re looking for something cooler and more retro, try the sock monkey. Sock monkeys are so weird and they scared me when I was a child.
  • Baby Tiger Costume: You should paint whiskers with eyeliner if you can get your boy to hold still.
  • Baby Lion Costume: This super cute baby lion outfit is from Amazon.com. Where's Dorothy?
  • Baby Skunk Costume: This is so appropriate. I think I can smell this little rug rat all the way from my house.
  • Baby Frog Costume: This froggie is so cute and it might be a contest winner if mom or little sis dresses up as a princess.
  • Baby Pig Costume: This pig costume borders on child abuse because it's so horribly funny. But, you may never have another chance to embarrass your tot again. Do it.
  • Baby Lamb Costume: I would let my child wear this adorable outfit every day until he outgrew it.
  • Baby Seal Costume: This is priceless. Just imagine how your son will feel when you show this to his fiancé in 20 years.
  • Baby Dragon Costume: There is a dragon outfit at OldNavy.com, but I think you can find something better if you look around. Don’t forget to teach your dragon how to roar and please try to get that roar on video.
  • Baby Snail Costume is one of my all-time faves for a little crawler. Your boy will try to purge this from your computer when he's 13, so save your photo on a backup disc.

Funny Baby Costumes

Here are two other costumes that will make your friends smile:

  • Baby Peanut Costume: If you can’t bring yourself to put your baby boy in a pig costume, what about a baby peanut costume? Teach your child how to sing the "Peanut Sat on a Railroad Track" song for trick or treating. This stupid peanut outfit is so funny. I can’t decide which is worse…I mean better … the pig or the peanut. (Don't teach the peanut song if you have train tracks nearby.)
  • Baby Elvis Costume and Elvis Wig: Ha ha ha.

Kids' Superhero Costumes

Okay, these outfits won't make fun of your little squirt, but there is something so funny about an infant or toddler with superpowers.

  • Baby or Toddler Superman Costume at OldNavy.com. Or, you can get a Superman Bunting Costume if your baby isn’t mobile, yet.
  • Baby Batman Costume at Old Navy. Or find a Batman Bunting Costume at MoonCostumes.com or one of the other costume sites. I wonder how long that mask will stay on.

Baby Star Wars Costumes

There is nothing funnier than a baby in a Star Wars costume. All infant Star Wars outfits can be found for around $19, so check these out, then look around to see if you can find an even better price:

  • Baby Yoda Costume:
  • Baby Chewbacca Costume:
  • Baby Ewok Costume:
  • Toddler Darth Vader Costume:
  • Storm Trooper Costume
  • Baby Princess Leia Costume: Get your little pals together to make this a group costume.

Baby Halloween Outfits

Halloween Rompers from OldNavy.com are only $12.50. You can’t make your own costume for that price.

  • Baby Skeleton One-Piece Romper
  • Baby Pumpkin One-piece Romper: There are tons of websites that have more expensive fancy pumpkin costumes if Old Navy's onesies don't float your boat. Just try any costume site.

I think it’s wonderful that parents get to put their babies and toddlers in fancy dress costumes for Halloween. But, please don’t forget to take photos for Facebook so all of your friends can share in the fun. When your kid is a teenager, you'll be glad you did.
